Source: Wade Phillips Out, ESPN MNF Jon Gruden Tops Wish List, But...
Nov 8th, 2010

Multiple sources have told OffshoreInsiders.com that Wade Phillips will be fired today as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

He did not take the team flight home. He flew in Jerry Jones private plane in which he was given the news. Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett will likely take over as interim coach, though expect Jones to make a pitch for Jon Gruden.

The holdup with Gruden is not money, but power over player personnel. Thus an agreement is unlikely as egomaniac Jerry Jones is not likely to give up his GM power. Gruden will choose working with Al Michaels over Jerry Jones, assures our source.
