| Baseball Scores: Fade the Cubs Says MLB Handicapping Guru |
| Jul 2nd, 2010 Matt Rivers has your free plays winner is on the Cincinnati Reds 130 against the Chicago Cubs.
It’s a day game and not the lock of my life but I have been saying for a while how the Cubs are a total disgrace and nothing at all seems to be changing. I might as well just cut and paste my write-ups from the past week or so fading these underachieving clowns because it may be a new day but nothing is different.
Lou Pinella is basically gone as he has done nothing good for this organization and the players themselves are regressing by the day. What on God’s green Earth has happened to Lee, Soriano and Ramirez? I mean seriously. All three were All-Star beasts that had MVP potential. Now the trio can’t even hit the ball out of the infield.
Throw in Fukudome and Soto and you have two guys that are just beyond lost. It’s unreal how horrific, inept and pathetic the North Siders have become.
I don’t mind Ryan Dempster and that sinker, as the righty is not bad and may hurl a gem today. But the team overall is a disgrace unlike the Reds, who are not the most talented, but continue to plug away and win ballgames.
Bronson Arroyo is a little feast or famine at times and can’t be fully trusted but Votto, Phillips, Rolen and the visitors are the much more confidant club and the flat out superior club on the field today.
Fading the Cubbies has been an absolute cash cow and until that well dries up a little I’m going to ride it for all its worth.
For more information: A phenomenal 2-1 Thursday as the 300,000* plus $2 Astros and 300,000* plus 175 Pirates took care of business profiting another 800,000*. This is the role of a lifetime and nothing at all changes today. I said I was as hot as the Burning Bush yesterday. I’m not even sure what that would make it today, as the good has gotten remarkably even better! Four monster fire hot locks led by a 400,000* Mets-Nationals along with a pair of 200,000* Astros-Padres and Royals-Angels. 100,000* Marlins-Braves to round out another Crookie bashing evening! | Argentina vs Germany and Paraguay vs Spain World Cup Odds |
| Jul 2nd, 2010 After the Dutch shocked Brazil, they reminded sportsbook bettors that anything is possible in South Africa 2010. With that in mind, let’s have a look at Saturday’s exciting matchups in World Cup soccer betting.
Argentina vs Germany – 10:00 a.m. ET
Vegas odds: Argentina +120, Germany +230, Draw +215
It’s a matchup sports betting fans and sports fans alike hoped would come to fruition, and everyone got their wish when Argentina and Germany drew each other for the quarter-final. When Germany beat Argentina on penalty kicks in 2006, a brawl ensued. The bad blood continues this year via a war of words between coach Diego Maradona and Germany’s Bastian Schweinsteiger.
We can expect an intense affair, but also a skilled one. Lionel Messi has been a bit snake bitten for Argentina when it comes to finding the actual net but he’s still thrived in the role of attacking midfielder, setting up countless goals. Germany’s gotten a highly underrated offensive performance from Mesut Ozil; Miroslav Klose, who is closing in on Ronaldo’s career World Cup goals record, tends to get the headlines.
Paraguay vs Spain – 2:30 p.m. ET
Bodog odds: Paraguay +700, Spain -250, Draw +330
The Spaniards gave everyone a scare with their shaky loss to Switzerland early in the tournament but have really started gaining momentum as the tournament progresses. Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta have done a superb job pushing the ball forward to set up David Villa, who has been a monster with four goals in the tourney already. If Fernando Torres can finally find his legs, look out.
Can Paraguay surprise and topple a team that hasn’t lost to a South American side at the World Cup since 1986? They reportedly plan to stick to their rugged, aggressive defending style. They’re a conservative team in that they focus more on preventing goals than scoring them but, at the same time, they pressure midfielders and try to force turnovers. According to coach Gerardo Martino, that will be the plan again against Spain.
But will fatigue become a factor after Paraguay’s exhausting penalty-kicks win against Japan in the round of 16?
